Oxford, England

Because Oxford is where you will spend most of your time abroad, it will become your home away from home. The city is torn straight out of a storybook, right down to the cobblestone roads. Oxford is place for personal exploration, an ideal town to wander off on your own and find your favorite niche; this is a popular pastime, as author C.S. Lewis did the same thing, winding up in The Eagle and Child pub, which is still in business today. Christ Church College provided the backdrop for the worldwide phenomenon Harry Potter and you too will feel like you are at Hogwarts everyday. Oxford is not a three day stop on your travel portion, there is no one thing you must see or do, it is a city to absorb and tour on your own time, at your own speed, viewing the sites that most interest you, and partaking in the activities of your liking. Let Oxford grow on you without your cell phone, car, or television; broaden your horizons for passing the time and you will never want to leave the fairytale.

*Many of the sites provide information that will be helpful for your preparation for visiting the city. Additionally, these sites may prove valuable while you are in the specific city with the group, i.e. weather forecasts, city maps, etc. We encourage you to save these sites and visit them prior to venturing out on your own on what may be a national holiday!
